SBR Muck Run

Brief Description:

The 4rd Annual SBR Muck Run is a 10K, 5K and 1.5K running event but with an attitude.  This family friendly mucky event is for athletes or non athletes of all ages. 

Each runner will run on logging trails in the Nicolet National Forest, through waste deep silty water, climb over the tree pile, navigate the tire maze, crawl up and slide down steep hills, and in the end every runner must crawl through the muck pit before going through the finish line. Sound messy?  It is!  A blast for the whole family?  You bet! Signups are available online!  To register, click here.

Fees:

Adult 10K        $30 (Early registration deadline – August 24th midnight)
Adult 10K        $40 (August 25 – Race Day)
Adult 5K          $20 (Early registration deadline – August 24th midnight)
Adult 5K          $30 (August 25 – Race Day)
Junior 1.5K      $10 (Early registration deadline – August 24th midnight)
Junior 1.5K      $15 (August 25 – Race Day)

  • Early registrations are guaranteed a shirt.  Late registration participants will be given shirts on a first-come, first-served basis as supplies last.

Age Requirement:

SBR Muck Run: 12 years old and older by the event date
SBR Junior Muck Run: minimum of 4 years old by the event date

When:

SBR Muck Run begins at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday September 11th
The Weekend event begins Friday September 10th through Sunday September 12th

SBR Junior Muck Run

This event is perfect for the people who love to get dirty, but are unable to run a long distance.  If you are at least 4 years old, this is the event for you.  Your 1.5K run will navigate the silty water, climb the tree pile, go through the tire maze, run the steeple chase, and end in the muck pit.  The Junior Muck Run is not timed, and all finishers will receive a ribbon. Entry Fee Includes:

  • Race Entry, Lunch, Bib, Goody Bag, post race snack, and prizes for top finishers.  SBR Muck Run Shirt is guaranteed to those who registered early.  Late registration participants will be given shirts on a first-come, first-served basis as supplies last.

  • Top 3 fastest (men and women) for 10K and 5K race
  • Muddiest runner (adult and child)
  • Best entrance into the muck pit


Some Helpful Hints:

  • Wear your old beat up clothes and sneakers as they will get trashed.  We will have a rinsing off area and a place to change your clothes.
  • Bring a plastic bag for muddy clothes.
  • Drink lots of fluids before and after the race.
  • This can be a competitive race or a “just for the fun of it” race.  Please respect others who are racing.
  • EMTs will be available at the start/finish line.
  • Children under 4 cannot enter the muck pit.
  • You can clean mud off yourself and clothing in either the outdoor shower area, or at our beach on Sawyer Lake.  Bring a towel to dry off with.


Race Event Timing:

You can view your finish time at the end of the race on a printout provided by race staff.


Weekend Camping:
